Our Fire Risk Assessment will outline both areas of compliance and noncompliance.

The Fire Risk Assessment is a balanced report which gives a snapshot of where an organsation is in terms of achieving compliance with the Fire Services Act 1981 - 2003 and Fire Safety Regulations.

Fire Risk Assessments should be only undertaken by competent persons. We only use our team of Fire Safety Consultants who have specific expertise and competence in this field.

All employers including the self-employed must have a safety statement relating to their workplace and work activities.

The Safety Statement is a written document which specifies how health and safety will be managed within the business and it is the cornerstone of effective health and safety management in any business.

The Safety Statement will also contain your policy and risk assessments and the controls required to minimise the risks from the hazards in the workplace. This must be reviewed annually and amended if required.

VDU Assessments help identify any possible risks associated with incorrect use of VDUs. Strain on the neck, shoulders, back, arms and wrists can result from a poorly designed workstation. A VDU Risk Assessment can reduce the likelihood of developing these symptoms and in our experience employees welcome the help in showing them what the best practice is.

Some Information?

• Employees who habitually use VDU/DSE as a significant part of their normal work require assessment.
• Employees who work at a desk station continuously for 1 hour or more per day require assessment.
• Employees must also have periodic breaks or changes of routine, away from VDU/DSE.
• Employees must be trained in the use of the workstation and be given information about ergonomics and health and safety factors.
• Employees are entitled to have their workstation assessed in line with the requirements Guide to the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 - Chapter 5 of Part 2: Display Screen Equipment.
