Programme Objective:
This 1 day course covers a range of topics to prepare an untrained person to administer some basic emergency care in the construction industry. Participants will learn practical skills and theoretical knowledge, so that they can react quickly to a situation that may arise in an industry that can be inherently dangerous.
Outline Syllabus:
There are nine modules in the Introduction to First Aid Course:
- Introduction
- Head Trauma
- Cuts & Grazes
- Nose Bleed
- Electrocution
- CPR & AED
- Choking
- Spinal injuries- Falling off ladders and other heights
- Getting trapped
- Alcohol related incidents
- Foreign Bodies in the eyes and other areas
- Crush Injuries – In particular toes and fingers
- Stress & Shock for both casualty and rescuer
- Broken Bones
- Chemical Burns
Training Method:
All participants will gain hands on practice with a number of skills and as all our instructors are frontline paramedics real value is added to the course contents.
Participant Profile:
This course is specially aimed at those professions who work in construction. Ideal candidates range all the way from site supervisors and trades people to general operatives and onsite admin staff.
